Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if my child inadvertently returns an East Brunswick Public Library book to the school library?
Not to worry.  I always return books to EBPL promptly in the event that his occurs.
What should I do if I return a Chittick book to the East Brunswick Public Library?
This happens occasionally.  East Brunswick Public Library sends any Chittick School library books they receive to Chittick School through the district courier.
I can't find my child's library book, what should I do?First, give it some time.  Books are often found in different places and at different times.
  1. If in a reasonable amount of time (3 months) you may consider purchasing a new or used copy to replace it.
  2. Have your child donate a gently used book to replace the lost item.  Children feel empowered when they can remedy the situation themselves.  Perhaps they can donate a book from home that they no longer read!
What should I do if a library book is damaged?
You can email Mrs. Haney or tape a note to the front of the book mentioning the condition.  I will repair it when it is returned.  Books do wear out and often this is not the fault of the borrower.
My child can remember his/her user name or password?
After three attempts, the district computer system will lock the student out of the account.  Contact Mrs. Haney and I will be happy to reset the password.
